Brewing Pointers

  • Prepare all your brewing tools in advance.
  • Keep your coffee equipment and storage containers clean at all times.
  • Choose and adjust your grind size based on:

    — Your selected brewing method
  • Maintain consistency in water quality, coffee-to-water ratio, brew time, and measurements.
  • Remember:

Ethiopian Jebena (Traditional)

  • Coffee-to-Water Ratio: 1:10
  • Grind Size: Medium–Fine
  • Coffee Age: 7–12 days
  • Dose: 20 g
  • Water: 200 ml
  • Water Temperature: Fresh off boil
  • Brew Time: 6–8 minutes

    Method Note:
    Allow the coffee to gently boil once or twice in the jebena. Remove from heat, let grounds settle, and
    pour slowly. Traditionally served in small cups, often in multiple rounds (Abol, Tona, Baraka).
